Jackie Zautner Vandenberg is a Music and Dance Educator whose primary focus is to inspire all students to a lifetime of involvement in the arts.
Throughout life music, dance, theater and teaching have been her passions. Stage performances, TV appearances and choreography were woven into her life experience from an early age. Music and Dance Education degrees from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee formed her educational fabric. She graduated with a Master of Arts in Education from St. Mary’s University Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2009.
While teaching Elementary General Music full time she owned and operated a dance studio for eight years, believing that there was opportunity to further the arts in the community. During those eight years the studio produced twelve story ballet productions that involved over one hundred students.
In 2013 she was a co-recipient of the Melvin Pontious Creative Sparks in Music Education Award from the Wisconsin Music Educators Association. And in 2016 she was a nominee for the Excellence in Theatre Education Award presented by The Tony Awards and Carnegie Mellon University.
Having taught music for 25 years in public and private school she retired from the West Bend School District in June 2016.
A wide variety of teaching, administrative and educational experiences continue to inform, motivate and inspire her work.
